Guest guest
1)I was covereed by PCHS so can't help you there. But Dr Allan's staff did all of the work ing getting me pre=-approved. He said it wouldn't be an issue and it wasn't. 2) I had my right hip done by Dr. Allan Aug 6. 2003.He did a great job. I have had and still have a plate and several screws ith the top of the right femur since 1988, he attempted to remove them but had problems with the screws and ended up leaving it all in and putting ther resurf on top of what was there. HE is a great Doc., not very chatty but willing to take on a challange and very concerned with his patients wishes. I went in on Wed. AM and was out Fri. afternoon. 3) It has been GREAT!! I woke up out of pain for the fist time in two years. I feel like I was given my life back!! The only negative that I can think of is the fact that I will never be able to walk through an airport metal dector again without it going off, but that give me a chance to tell the agents how geartI feel now! 4)I can't take indomethician, so I had the radiation. I had my surgery at Memerial Hospital in Springfield. The hospital was and care I got was very good, but the crew that gave me the radiation was absolutely " top shelf " . As far as the radiation... no ill effects whatsoever. 5) I'm not a big sports player..I've been ridind a stationary bike, and see no ill effects there. I have resumed riding my touring motorcycle and have no problems at all. There are plenty fo people here on the board who can give better " sports " testimonies than myself. If you would like to follow up about Dr Allan, feel free to contact me directly. Baldy > > > HI, I'm 50 and active and am looking at hip resurfacing.
