Guest guest
I've just been approached today by a friend who wants to train for a mini-marathon. I think Team Cobalt would be a great name for our team! Any other ideas? Cindy C+ 5/25/01 and 6/28/
Guest guest
Cheers Chris! Cowabunga! I suspect you folks in CA saw the s. swell we saw a few days prior. Glad to hear you're wet and stoked. My first day back in the water was a monumental moment in my life as the surfing factor was probably the largest component in driving my research into alternatives to THR. So...where did you surf? How's about a report...size, conditions, etc... Do you have a spot you consider your 'home break', and if so where? I'm going to be in CA in a few weeks, if there is any chance of hooking up for a surf, I would be very stoked to join you for a session. Advise on details etc...should you be interested in setting loose team hippie on your local spot. Let the moms & groms beware, team cobalt is loose. Keep shredding. Guest guest
Cheers Glad to hear you made it back to the surf lineup. I am planning on going surfing for the first time in a year in San Diego my old stomping grounds before I moved to Boulder. I get to make a couple trips a year to my favorite surf spots and can't wait to go on my new resurfed hip. Went last year before surgery and had some trouble popping up on my bad. Disappointing when you have surfed for over 30yrs of your life and you look like a grem getting up. Hope to be catching a good swell at Swamies when I get back for my trip, slashing and shredding those awesome right peaks. Keep up the shredding Mike > > Hi Gang. > > I successfully re-entered surfing today. Guest guest
HI , I'm natural, leg left surgical so I have the same predicament as you. It used to kill me going backside, especially when I would go up and try to whack the lip. I went out last night and there was a bit of juice, and it got thrashed around a little. I had some pain that scared me following a wipeout, I think you'll find that it's hard to control your leg from flopping, and the groin muscles that do the controlling are jacked. Maybe your'e experience will be different, but my glutes and hams were fine, it was the front of the socket that hurt. Probably from the dislocation. I woulnd't even thing about anything over 5-6 bro, it's just too much power and velocity. And I'd avoid wiping out (as if anyone likes to get pounded)...but I mean, maybe take it easy and pick your spots. Let me know how it goes. Maybe we can have a surf together some day? C+ 4-15-04 P.S. I did some swimming and body surfing on small days in the ocean to get my mojo back for being in the water. I hightly recommend it. It's a good test of your leg. > > > > > > Hey > > Congrats on standing up. Guest guest
Thanks Where do live ? I am going to be in S.D. in late sept, if you live in L.A. maybe meet at Trestles or Salt Creek. Your right about wiping out and no control. I have been swimming Masters since I was able to after surgery so when I go on my surf trips I can paddle out and not get killed in the line-up going out. It will be about 5 months post- op so with all the bike riding and swimming I'm strong enough to get throught it all. Good luck and stay in touch Mike > > > > > > > > > > > > Hey > > > > Congrats on standing up.
