Hi Gang.

I successfully re-entered surfing today. Hip feels " odd " and

vulnerable when I take off, but I was careful in what waves I took,

and careful how I exited the waves, and had no problems. Surfed for

2 hours and I feel great. I still have trouble getting my surgical

leg up into position and then standing quickly, but I no know it's

not going to pop out of the socket and flap around when I get up,

and that's a big comfort. And I'm 3 months and 2 days post op.

Anyway, it's a big day for me, and I wanted to share it with you.

Those who are resurfed, you know my elation. It's too good to be

true.

Hey

Congrats on standing up. You must be feeling pretty good!

I am around 3 months post-op and hanging to get back in the water for that

first wave.

Are you goofy or natural and which hip did you have done?

I am goofy and always found it difficult to stand up (pre-op) with my right

hip being the bad one. (Found it hard to push up and get my front leg in

position first go). I imagine I will have similar trouble when I get back

in the water (next week hopefully).

Just had a big storm down here in Australia and swell is messy but got up

to around 15 feet (Australian scale).

Normally I'd be waiting for it to clean up and get some waves but not sure

if I could handle any waves with size at the moment.

Good work and stick at it, you'll be doing aerials in no time!

Does this give the term 'resurf' a new meaning?
