Guest guest
I had my op. 4 weeks ago, and, at 59, am in the 'upper limits' of the age group for BHR. I am doing really well, and have found myself better every day, and now going out with only 1 stick. Although I am sleeping reasonably well on my back, it feels very unnatural. Most of the info. I received in the hospital was based on patients having THR - with the odd comment to me of 'you'll recover more quickly, and with less likelihood of dislocation'.How soon have others been told they can sleep in other positions?. I am having the second hip operated on in 4 weeks - but after my first experience, I am much less apprehensive this time. Further to discussions on returning to work - I am fortunate in having good paid sick leave, but would not want to rush back. Major surgery is very tiring, and it is that, rather than the hip itself, which would prevent an early return to work. I am new to the site, and have enjoyed reading recent contributions.
