Helo ,

Thanks for responding and feeding me with encouraging news.

Did you say that you are walking already 600 meters 4 times/ day?

Regards,

Joe

Re: Up Coming Resurfacing Surgery in 12 days.

Hi Joe,

Well it's good news that your wait is over! I am just 3 weeks and 3

weeks after my surgery and I can't believe how well it has gone. Be

encouraged, I was more worried about the recovery than the op, but

my progress has been boringly routine!

I had a fairly difficult operation and had a BHR on one hip, but

within a week I was walking 400m and now I do 4 x 600m repetitions

daily, not like some of the super athletes on this site but I am

very happy. I am on two crutches for 6 weeks, but already the

swelling has gone, the incision is nicely healed, and my limp is

significantly reduced. Also down to a couple of paracetemols to get

me going in the morning!

The only downsides I experienced were the rolling by the nurses to

wash your back, before you got out of bed...a big incentive to get

up, and lots of stiffness until about 20 days but even that is going

now. Within 6 hours of surgery I was fully awake and and no

anaesthetic after effects.

So best wishes to you, it is a big thing, I had never been in

hospital before ( 48 years) but found the whole thing positive and

constructive....so to speak! So best wishes, and I wish you well.
