Guest guest
I have the info Patti, I will send it to you on you home email. Cindylouwho Stress Tests Hi -- I just read on the EDNF site that, at the conference, Dr. Graham stated during her presentation that no chemical stress tests should be done on people with EDS. I was wondering (to those who went to the conference), is there someone who has contact info for Dr. Graham? I would like to have my cardiologist contact her, as he exclusively does chemical stress tests on me because of my poor circulation in my legs. Thanks much -- Love, Patti

Guest guest
Hi Grace, I didn't attend that class. What I sent the other member was the info on the Dr that gave the talk. Address phone #. I looked at EDNF and there is a short bit on it, where someone took notes. I'll copy paste that here, hope it helps: I did attend that workshop and I think it was Dr. Graham, " The Heart and EDS Testing and Management " . From my notes I have the following. 1). Coronary arteries need to be assessed prior to aneurysm repair. 2).The ejection fraction needs to be known. 3). The quality of machines, i.e, CT, MRI, MRA can vary along with the ability of doctors interpreting results. 4).Stress test is acceptable but use caution not to go into maximum stress test level. 5).Find MD that has much experience with vascular surgery at a vascular hospital. Since less experience with EDS, those experienced with Marfan's patients may be preferred. 6).EDS is a broad spectrum disease and are different form the normal population. NO CHEMICAL STRESS TESTS!!! 7). Can have EKG, nuclear scan, echocardiogram. 8). 30 day event monitor is better than 24 hour halter monitor. 9). Vertebral arteries are often not checked because they cannot be surgerically repaired. 10). Need cartiod arteries checked. 11). Mitral valve prolapsed is always progressive in men and leads to surgery. 12). Ask MD...How is this test going to change my diagnosis and treatment? This is what I took down in my notes but failed to write down which session it was. I do remember attending Dr Graham's sessions. Hope this is accurate. Guest guest
It seems by my private email connections that there is a big interest in this subject. My Email to Grace on the board was a mistake, in that it went to the board instead of her private email. But maybe since so many are interested, one person could contact her and ask if she would send her notes to us? Well, to that person to share? I didn't attend that class, so I really know nothing about the subject or what is for. I know what a stress test and non stress test is, but not a non chemical stress test. I have her address and #/fax number if anyone wants it. Cindylouwho
