Guest guest
& Alan -- thanks for the feedback. I see, on Dr Theo's website, that there is an Avosoy coming in August -- that also contains chondrioton. Isn't chondroiton the " repair " part of the formula?? Anyway, I've order more and cannot wait for it to get here. did you do any sort of stretching/exercise on your muscles or was this just not a problem for you? I swear, I get discouraged when I try walking and end up in such a muscle mess. My last project was helping a friend rebuild porch, deck, and steps. I didn't seize up at all. But walking? Everytime. And hints, spells or incantations you can suggest would be appreciated. Joyce (Dr Gross, LHR, 2/2/04) sungold518@... Re: Avosoy Joyce, (Since you ordered, you know...Avasoy is a compound based on French research. For others who may not, it's based on compounds from soy and avocado. The guy who sells Avasoy is " Dr. Theo " ....he of " The Arthritis Cure " book; in the updated version of the book he writes about " A-S-U " , avocado-soy unsaponifiable -- which he explains. They are primary ingredients in Avasoy. Dr. Theo was an early proponent of glucosamine and chondroitin. Now on to the good stuff) As you know the literature they send with Avasoy says it could take four weeks of supplementation before you notice the benefit. If you took only a 30 day supply, you may just have gotten to the point of maximum benefit when you ran out. I'm about half way through my second month, and with the exception of the left hip, which won't get any better without surgery, the rest of my body feels like I'm about 17. Could be lucky; could be Avasoy. (THIS IS NOT AN ENDORSEMENT. IT'S ONLY A REPORT. AND, AS I'VE MENTIONED AT OTHER TIMES, NONE OF IT IS WHAT I KNOW; IT'S WHAT I THINK I'VE LEARNED FROM READING THE WORK OF PEOPLE WHO SEEM TO KNOW SOMETHING.) Hobble on, Hippies... Alan > Dear folks. Guest guest
Hi Alan, The general thing about any of these 'supplements' is what the body actually makes of them............ From what I can gather about a major joint getting to the arthritis state is generally this means it is rubbing end to end enough to wear the cartilage away and set off the arthritis state......... To get to that state in the general population it would seem that the muscles are not effectively working to keep the joint apart and bathed in synovial fluid......... the main agent that carries out the continual repair of a joint - i.e. there are no blood vessels in cartilage......... And that is one of those catch 22 as the joint is by then sore and of course we start messing up the muscle state even more trying to protect ourselves from pain............ synovial fluid get more limited rah rah.......... Superfit athletes present it slightly differently.........but get a similiar outcome i.e.cartilage gets worn down and then off at points........... and I think there is a different process involved with fingers etc. However, having started to wear the cartilage down there comes a critical point when cartilage cells are no long at the point to build and repair.........even if the synovial fluid is still happening..........so no amount of any supplement is going to create an increase in them where necessary......... And as the research article indicated even the ones they cloned and put in there found the environment by then pretty hard going so didn't do too well............. But, if it hasn't reached the critical point there is some benefit with specific exercise to the muscles to get the joint separated to stop the rubbing (of course these would have to be done without causing more wear), and attempt to trigger the body into setting about repairing the cartilage.......... I would imagine this would be a pretty involved affair over time and I would think any formula would be the last real trigger for repairs though the contents may or may not help with repairs - depending on how the body processed the formula. Figuring out why the uneven wear and specific muscle building via non weight bearing would be the logical starting place at first hint of pain I would think, and I continue to be bemused that this is about the last place most start......... for we inhabit a society that first reaches for the pill bottle to fix our problems. Said tendencies are duly exploited by all and sundry..... Edith LBHR Dr. L Walter Syd Aust 8/02 > & Alan -- thanks for the feedback.
