" So really the question for all of us who tread the tail of this tiger on a

regular basis is how comfortable we are with the inevitability of our own

deaths? " Ah well, now HERE'S a subject.... Presumably the message thread

has to do with " overdoing " activity and risking the success of the implant.

Let's reframe this particular debate. Death will come to all of us. There

is no doubt about that. I have no idea of the age and/or experience of the

writer of the above quote -- but I have seen Death up close and personal

and though I am awed by the " passing " of a human being -- I am not

" comfortable " with it. Neither the deaths I've witnessed nor my own

inevitable demise. I do not know what is on the " other side " of that

transition. However, insofar as risking the hip resurfacing surgery in

pursuit of Warrior status, the question becomes this: How comfortable are

you with more surgeries on your hip, a possible THR and all the

restrictions that would put upon the warrior activities? The Warrior

archetype is not an undisciplined being. Quite the contrary. The Warrior

is the embodiment of self-discipline and applied wisdom who has the courage

to do what's needed despite the intrusion of the Ego. So the question

becomes: Wisdom or Ego? To whom do we listen? Joyce, (Dr Gross, LHR,
