Hi ,

I too had gestational diabetes and then began not feeling well after the baby

was delivered. Then I began with symptoms of thyroiditis. I've since had

thyroiditis that was diagnosed after 17 years as hashimotos. Then low and

behold - this past year I was diagnosed with Graves.

Hi again,

I have a friend that is having problems getting an explanation for her

symptoms. She had a baby about 6 mo ago. She had gestational diabetes during

her pregnancy...well since she had the baby she has not felt good...gets

hungry,hyperglycemia...now she has pressure behind one eye...she had her

thyroid tested by her general dr and he has been rude to her and basically

told her she is imagining things. I was just wondering if you have

gestational diabetes if maybe you are more likely to get postpartum

thyroiditis?

dx almost two yrs ago

been on 100 mg of PTU for appox. 3 wks

It'll be useful if someone comes up with a study showing a link but not

necessary. Does she have an endo she can go to? What about the OB or

others who managed her pregnancy? Also, what are her numbers? And, last

but not least, while if it is thyroiditis drs. don't do much but monitor,

you still need a competent, sympathetic dr. for that monitoring.

I am way behind on emails but would like to respond to this. I also had

gestational diabetes with my last pregnancy, when I had active GD. With my

second child there was no testing done, but she weighed 10 lbs. I believe I

may have had gestational diabetes with this pregnancy also.
