CoQ 10 and Symptoms

Dear Sunny,

In the late 1980's I started to have red and white lesions on the

lateral part of my tongue, and then they spread to the inner adjacent

cheek.(I have never smoked.) I think this was among my initial mito

presentations. Over the years, I ended up having three biopsies (never

have a tongue bx with just a local!). One oral surgeon told me that he

had only seen one other case like mine, in 25 years of practice. The

lateral area of the tongue is the place where most oral cancer first

hits, and it can be a very virulent cancer.

I started a regular brand of CoQ10 in 1998, when I had a provisional

diagnosis.

I think it was only last year that I switched to Tishcon's CoQ10. The

painful lesions disappeared! And recently, after I stopped the

supplements prior to a second muscle bx, the lesions reappeared after

being off the supplements for three

weeks. I was off them for six weeks.

It became painful to brush my teeth---the toothpaste stung so much.

Sometimes it slurred my speech.

Off the CoQ10 also made my gastroparesis so much worse. I would not have

been able to continue much longer without Carnitor and CoQ10. I had no

desire to eat and was having headaches and vomiting, losing 13 lbs.in 24

hours.

My hearing also worsened.

I know that some of you have not been able to tolerate Co Q10; we are

all so different. For me, I don't think I'd have any hearing left were

it not for these meds, since 1998.

For those on CoQ10, I definitely recommend the Tishcon brand. All of the

studies they do on OTC vitamins and the like really are like horror

stories. A consumer really has no idea what is really in the capsules

and pills bought OTC.

They have even had some nasty fraud involving generic drugs vs. brand

names.

Take care.

S.
