Guest guest
My son just started the Ponseti method and received his first set of casts yesterday. He's 16 months old tomorrow. He's been refusing to sleep in his bed, screams/cries a lot, only slept 5 hours last night (compared to 11-12 on a normal night). Are there any other parents on this board who started their child on this method when they were older. I'm curious to hear how older children typically react to this treatment. I'm not sure if 's screaming/crying because he's in pain or because he's mad that he has casts on. I called the doctor's office and they said we could have his casts removed tonight and to come in tomorrow...however, I'm starting to think he's just going through an adjustment phase. I don't want to unnecessarily remove the casts and then start all over. 's toes look good and so does the skin by his diaper. Anyhow, any stories, thoughts, advice would be appreciated. Thank you!!!
