Hello there. I don’t recall how asked about using the pill after WLS

but I had used that method of birth control since before and after my

surgery 11/7/00—over 3 years ago! This is only my experience but it has

been the best thing for me. I didn’t have any problems with

mal-absorption that I know of as I didn’t get pregnant when on the pill.

I decided after being on it since my son was born over 9 years ago that

I would go off; I just couldn’t get off that last 15 pounds and I wanted

to see if this would make a difference but also I did it for other

reasons that are personal. I did notice that I lost about 10 pounds the

first 6 weeks I was off it but that may have just been a fluke, too!

Considering I was on the pill since my 6 week check up with my 9+ year

old, I was only off the pill not even 2 months before I got pregnant and

that wasn’t even using birth control faithfully. My fiancée and I were

using condoms and needless to say the night we conceived Jake’s little

brother/sister we didn’t use any protection so it wasn’t due to any

faulty birth control just no self control!! LOL

I have been thinking about what I will do after this baby comes, I most

likely will go back to the pill that I was on if my doctor okay’s it or

another form that will work with breastfeeding but that is just my

opinion!!

I hope this gives you some info!

Have a great night everyone.

Smiles,
