Guest guest
Hello, My son Ivan was born in June with atypical left clubfoot. We have gone through 15 casts, two different doctors and two tenotomys only to be more or less back where we started. We are now seeing Dr. Scher at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan. We have been very happy with our decision to seek treatment with Dr. Scher, but he is advising us to have Ivan's foot operated on, as we seem to be at a standstill with the casting. There is a deep lateral crease in the foot and the heel is drawn up. This is a difficult decision for us, and we are contemplating going to Iowa, but I don't want to subject Ivan to more physical discomfort than necessary especially if we ultimately will need to resort to a surgical release anyway. Any advice is appreciated, especially from those of you who are dealing with atypical feet. Here is a link to a webpage we put together for Ivan that includes photos. http://nick.home.acedsl.com/ Best,
