Guest guest
Hi all, My name is Sherra and just found out via a home pregnancy test that I am pregnant (I feel the symptoms too so ahhh think it's prolly correct LOL)....will need doctor test confirmation of course. I had my Lap-RNY proximal bypass operation about 2.5 yrs ago. I am 5'2 " and currently at 125 - under my goal I set by about 20 lbs - down from 300 whoowhoo! My skin went back fairly decently because I'm 31 so I did not get surgery to remove skin if that affects any of the answers. I've had no major surgeries but rny. I have a few questions as I am an avid type researcher/reader and love to get ppl's opinions that have been there done that and who best to ask but you folks? Before I ask the questions currently I am taking the following vitamins faithfully daily: *a multivite *b12 sublingual that has folic acid and b6 in it *vit c *4100mg of calcium citrate ( which is 1200mg of elemental calcium) *iron 150mg elemental *Cranberry fruit pills (for recurring uti's) *an extra dry vit E 400iu *an extra A&D 10000&400 *Milk thistle *soon to be taking ipriflavone and also some extra upcal D. Daily Diet faithfully: I take in 3 to 4 protien shakes a day (proscore/stack whey's), good fats like avocado and nuts, and good carbs like a fruit a day and some veggies. I really don't feel I eat enough but I try. I am really hoping that I won't hate those foods due to the nausea! I finally got my rythym and am so good at following stuff faithfully. Here are my questions: 1) How much weight did you gain through your pregnancy? How much do they say you need to gain? How much is too much? Sorry to sound vain this being my first question but I am a little nervous about weight gain but I know I will need to for the health of the baby. 2) What is your opinion on elective C section as opposed to vaginal birth? I had a lap done but not necessarily because I opposed open rny - surgeon offered lap and it was his specialty. I must admit I'm scared of vaginal birth, I'm really a chicken for pain mainly is why. I also do not really want to stretch my vaginal area...I have heard stories but I have no idea if those are true or not. 3) Avoiding morning sickness. Are there any safe products of FOODS that help avoid morning sickness? I have heard that a half of a banana in the morning can help offset morning sickness. I already have a hard time forcing myself to get in all my calories per day..don't want to be sick if I can help avoid it. I also notice I'm a little woozie lately. Animations on webpages and the like are making me sick. 4) What foods help form the baby? 5) Am I getting enough calcium in? How much does the baby need? Heard if it isn't getting enough it'll take from me..yikes! 6) Is there anything you wish you had known your first time around? Any wisdom you may have is appreciated. 7) How do you know you have picked a good doc? What questions should I ask? 8) I really question if my breast milk will be nutritious enough. Will it be? Will it drive me nuts that my nipple will be chapped or hurt and I won't want to breast feed? What other healthy methods out there will I be able to rely on if I get like that? tool wise? formula wise? 9) What items helped you the most with your baby? 10) Any special webpages you'd like to point me to? I'm sorry so many questions..you don't have to feel you have to answer them all. I will take anything I can get I'm really apprehensive and scared atm and at times near tears because I'm not sure what to do in terms of just everything lol. I know I need to see a doc and I'm making arrangements to do so here soon. I'm always so apprehensive because of the judgement of the gastric bypass. By the same token, I'm so happy to have this baby..just scared but I know the more I educate myself the more I'll be ok. Boy I'm glad I didn't get rid of my 1x clothing items LOL..those will make good pregnancy clothes. Thank you, Sherra
