Guest guest
I haven't posted in over a week. My son's heel is healing nicely. He no longer minds wearing his dbb, in fact he is back to his happy self. We had to leave the brace off for a few days...which made me so nervous. We met with the pt on Monday and she said that the foot still looks great...very loose. Also, we had the plastezoid (spelling) inserts removed from the markells. What a difference. My son's feet don't slip out of the shoes and he is so much more comfortable. I have a question. Most of you have had your children wear the dbb for 3 months 23/7. My doctor says that it will be at least 3 months, more likely 4 months. He said Jordan needs to be in the dbb 23/7 until he is bearing weight on his feet. We will do what we have to do but has anyone elses kids had to wear the dbb 23/7 for more than 3 months (not including relapses)? I know that in the long run that the longer his feet are held in the corrected position the better, but I want him to be able to move around freely during the day and I am so looking forward to him wearing the rest of his clothes that he can't wear now because they don't have snaps up the legs. keri Jordan 8/19/04 rcf (i can almost hit myself in the head with this bar.....mommy better go buy padding this weekend!!)
