Guest guest
Well, my husband and I met with a prospective doctor for our unborn baby boy and his bilateral clubfeet last night. His name is Dr. Thomson and is at CT Children's Medical Center in Hartford CT. He is not listed on the website as an " certified " doctor but his bio claims that he uses the Ponseti method. Well, long story short, we really liked him. He does indeed follow Dr. Ponseti's method, he even had an autographed book of Dr. Ponseti's that he got at one of his conferences. He hasn't become " certified " because he doesn't have all the pictures that Dr. Ponseti requires and is working on getting them (he only has taken pictures with the casts off and needs the ones with the casts on) I asked him all the questions that I got from an earlier post here that, based on his answers would help me to verify that he indeed does do this method and he answered them all exactly like he should have. I am so relieved. He is going to contact a couple of his previous patients so that we can speak to some other families. I will probably get a 2nd opinion just so that I can feel comfortable with my decision to go with him and not second guess anything. This group has been so helpful and making me more knowledgable about this. I feel like I am in control and not the clubfeet! The support and tools that is shared here is invaluable!!! Thanks again, Caroline Fazzina - soon to be mom of baby boy with CF
