Guest guest
If you've tightened them enough that they are not slipping then it's probably not a problem with correction. My daughter developed a red mark on her heel even though her shoes were not slipping. We put a Bandaid Blister Blocker on it for a few days and it cleared right up. The bandaid has gel in it that we put right over the mark and it prevents the shoe from causing a pressure sore. It took several weeks of a few days on with the bandaids and a few days off for the skin on her heel to " toughen up " and she hasn't had a red mark since. Hope this helps you! Guest guest
I just re-read your message and I guess you think they are still slipping? Have you tried pulling on her leg once the shoes are on to see if her toes move? If you pull up on her leg and her toes move then the shoes either aren't tight enough or the foot is not fully corrected. Are you sure that you are getting her heel all the way down in the shoe? You really need to wedge it in there tight and strap those suckers down! For the longest time I thought for sure I was cutting off the circulation in Olivia's foot, but she's done fine with them tight as can be. If her foot is not moving, then try the bandaids! Sorry about the confusion! Guest guest
Once the foot is corrected, it takes quite awhile for the heel to fill in, so the foot can slip out of the shoe a lot. I thought I was going to go mad. Only my daughter's clubfoot slipped at least a dozen times a day. After awhile, it just stopped. Once I found this list, I learned that the heel isn't properly formed which is one reason why the shoes may just slip off a lot. I did read your more recent post that you had tried four tips and now they're staying on, so that's a relief... Hope this helps!
