Guest guest
Hi everyone, I have not been on in a very long time. My daughter Kaitlyn born 3/02 with the left clubfoot. Everything on schedule still except her pinky toes really curl in. She does not like it when I cut the toe nails. I was told the doctors can cut the ???? and they will straighten out. Has this happened to anyone's child? Also she kicks her left foot out when she runs. This does not affect her ability to walk or run. The doctor did x-rays to rule out a few problems and she is o.k. The doctor said it is because her foot is a little tight due to the clubfoot. This common to anyone? Last, what is this web site to give out to someone. A friend of a friend's sister is pregnant and will be having a boy with clubfoot. I've had this site as a favorite and when I typed in nosurgery4clubfoot and health.groups.yahoo.com nothing comes up. I'd like to give this site to her to help her out. Thank you! Helen

Guest guest
Hi, Helen! Nice to see you post! I have heard about kids having the tendons near the toes snipped to lengthen them, but I don't recall anyone on this group discussing it as a personal experience (at least not recently). You might want to ask when this is done (at what age) and what the circumstances are for requiring it. I'm a little confused about your description of Kaitlyn kicking her foot out when she runs. If it's tight, wouldn't she pull it inward? Can you explain a little more? Maybe I'm just tired and not reading your message right! I'm glad things are going well! What doc is treating her? For your friend looking for info, you might also want to give her Dr. P's website: http://www.vh.org/pediatric/patient/orthopaedics/clubfeet/index.html And this one: http://pages.ivillage.com/ponseti_links Keep in touch! & (3-16-00) left clubfoot
