Guest guest
not to keep the discussion and debate going but I have to interject here. I read: " You've never had something that you've wanted and been denied? You've never wanted to experience something, but were unable to do it? I am a little surprised that someone would NOT understand the disappointment felt by women when they desire a vaginal delivery and yet end up with a cesarean. " -------------------------------------------------- After 20 hours of hard laboring with pitocin and remaining dilated to just " 2 " , and after 3 UNsuccessful epidural attempts, with my baby boy's heart rate dropping to the 60's and 70's and recovering less frequently and more slowly than the previous deceleration...... I wanted him OUT and I wanted him OUT RIGHT THEN!! I never thought I was cheated, I never felt disappointed in the slightest that I didn't have to labor and deliver vaginally. In my mind, that 20 hours was enough to convince me that the child wasn't coming out and we were going to have to go in and get him one way or the other. Since I am expressing MY own personal feelings, I would appreciate it if there were no comments about how I should have felt or didn't feel. I wanted to become a mother and I wanted him to be healthy. I've seen too many things go wrong to not cherish the fact that my obstetrician realized the danger and deliced for the stat cesarean. No, not once, not ever have I *regretted* or felt bad for having to have a c- section rather than vaginally. -------------------------------------------------- I realize there are two (and oftentimes more than two) sides to every story and each story is just as different as each of us in here are equally different. No one wants to feel picked on or degraded for giving their own personal opinion or experience when asked. Again, my own personal opinnion!
