Guest guest
, How is standing with the full leg casts? Doesn't your dr do the bent leg full up to the groin cast? We went into physical therapy first because of a surgery jason had that he shouldn't have had. the scar tissue formed so tightly it was pulling his feet in even more severe. so we went to physical therapy to help stretch the scar tissue. Now we are in to work on his hip muscles which have been underdeveloped due to the year in casts. Dr. Ponseti wanted him to continue as his feet are so very tight still after treatment. Not all cf babies have physical therapy, but it has sure helped us. atyp bl cf 10-09-03 > > Is physical therapy usually required for kids with clubfeet? > was pulling himself up to stand a couple of months ago, but then went > into casts. Guest guest
Hi , I asked my doctor that same question when Christian came out of the tenotomy cast. He said no he will not need it. The muscles in the legs will bounce right back. It will just take a little while. LOL yes, the casts were bent leg and all the way up to the groin. He still stood in them. He looked like a sumo wrestler. I held him in a standing position today and then transferred his hands to a chair and he stood just fine, even had his legs straight. So I think he'll be fine. and 11/10/03 bilateral clubfeet dbb 23/

But he figured it out quickly and got around easily on his hands and knees. Now he's trying to figure out the dbb. He's doing pretty well, but it's definitely set him back in the crawling department. and 11/10/03 bilateral clubfeet dbb 23/
Guest guest
, Refresh my memory, has he been in the dbb before? I'm trying to remember from previous posts and I can't. when jason had his shoes, it took a couple of days before he wasn't so fussy. Before we went back into casts he had figured out how to go up steps, stand, and get a free ride around the house by his bigger brother. LOL! They do adjust quickly. How I miss the shoes! > > > > Oh I hope adjusts that quickly! We have 3 more weeks of casts > > to go and this first week of being back in them has been trying. This is completely new to him, but I'm amazed at how well he's managing it after only 2 days in it. I'm so glad the casts are gone. and 11/10/03 bilateral clubfeet dbb 23/
