Welcome, & !

There is a link to Angel's website about her son's atypical clubfoot

in the " links " section. I think it's

http://adifferentfoot.freeservers.com/

I haven't seen Angel on the list in a while, but I'm sure she'd be

happy to email w/ you to discuss the " atypical " stuff if you write to

her.

I don't know how much Dr. P knows about Dr. Dobbs' new brace. I have

not seen any formal " endorsement " from Dr. P, but knowing how

dedicated Dr. Dobbs is to the Ponseti method, and knowing that he has

an acute understanding of what is required for post-correction

bracing, I am confident that the function of the newly designed FAB

has not been compromised. It is my understanding that it is the same

as the standard FAB, except it has a hinge in the center to allow the

child to move the feet " somewhat " independently. It still holds the

feet together with the bar and keeps the feet pointed outward and

toes pointed upward. I saw a picture of it from , whose son,

Tyler, uses it. I was concerned when I saw the picture that a child

would not be able to stand in the brace because of the hinge in the

center, but I have been told that they can and do!

P.S.

If Dr. Dobbs' has diagnosed as having atypical clubfoot, then

you'll probably want to inquire about getting the custom-

made sandals/brace for . This is the brace that the U of Iowa

has found works the best for atypical feet.
