Guest guest
Thank you to all who have responded with their experiences and opinions on VBAC. I had no idea that it was such a controversial subject. It has given me a lot to think about and I still have no idea what to do. My husband wants me to go for the VBAC because his mother had her 6 children that way and all of his 5 sisters have done it this way. He makes me feel like a failure because I had the c-section although I know he doesn't mean to. With both the vbac and csection I am frightened. My c-section before was absolutely humiliating, I did not like laying there all fat and naked for everyone to see...and I still don't understand why I couldn't have at least have worn my sports bra for a little modesty. The c-section was not terribly physically painful, I was up and around as soon as the epidural wore off and didn't use many pain meds because I was breastfeeding. I was out shopping for our baby the day I was released from the hospital. I was the same when I had my WLS...I barely used the pain meds and bugged the nurses to let me up and walk. I really just wish that people in this country were less worried about lawsuits. Because I am now considered high risk because of my blood conditions I feel as though I will not be able to do as I want. If I decide to have a VBAC...they will stick that stupid monitor on me and not let me move when I want to and they'll give me an epidural and leave me on my back and I will probably not progress at all. With the c-section my hubby will be disappointed with me but at least I know what to expect. As I said I still have a lot to think about. I live less than 1/2 mile from a hospital...a very good hospital. I wish I could just labor here at home and then drive the half a mile to the ER/hospital. But I know that's just not possible since the Dr.'s all seem to want you to come in as soon as you feel a tingle. At least that was how it was when I had my son. Thank you again for all the information...luckily for me I still have a few monthes to think about all this! Chrystal Wife to Jace - together 6 Years! Happy Mommy to - 4 Years Old!
