Guest guest
A stethoscope isn't as reliable as a doppler, but it can be found (depending upon the quality of the stethoscpe I might add). As you stated, your heartbeat is lower than the baby's (his/hers should be well over 100 bmp and yours less than 100). Start at your belly button and just move it all over your belly. If you aren't using the conducive jel with the stethoscope, it probably wont work as well, but most stethoscopes aren't made for use WITH jel. Try and relax, I know its hard. If the baby is facing toward your spine or in some other position, you may not hear it either. So, most likely, it isn't the baby, but the equipment, skill of the user or position of the baby. At 22 weeks, you should be feeling the baby *fluttering*, have you felt this yet? That is a good sign when you start feeling the baby moving. The Doppler picked up the heartbeat at the doctors office at 6 weeks, and they even said it was early to be able to hear it that clearly. Wow... I hadn't been asked anything like that in SO long... brings back all kinds of bad memories ( I think that I am having a hard time because of the reasons posted by angel of mercy. I will try again in a bit, and do as she suggested. Thanks so much for the help! ) Dee
