Guest guest
Hey! I don't post often, but I also am just 6 weeks pregnant and taking things slow. I just went through spotting last week myself, much like yours. It was a direct result of (unnecessary) stress. My OB jumped on it and had me have a blood test immediately to check my levels (all were good) and then sent me for an ultrasound to check the embryo size and look for a heartbeat. I spotted on Thursday morning, had stat bloodwork done that day, and had the ultrasound done Friday at 1pm. The ultrasound showed a heartbeat and everything " normal " for the time being. If the spotting is brownish and " old blood " looking, they say it is normal and very common in pregnancy. As this is my first, I was a nervous wreck and happy they took action. Apparently, once you hear the heartbeat, your chances of miscarriage drop to 5% (still scary in my book, but better). I would recommend you get in for the ultrasound asap, for peace of mind if nothing else! I was also told that there was a little fluid that would most likely result in more light spotting; so now I am prepared and won't freak out (as much). ;-) I did spot on Sunday morning after another stressful situation on Saturday night. I am on " lite " bed rest, NO stress, and NO lifting, too. All precautions for right now. I am happy to live by this (as insane as I already am about it and it has only been 5 days) to help make this all work! Best of luck and get in for that ultrasound. Bloodwork would be good too! Guest guest
I have actually been going through this since friday and I am about the same along. I started with a light pink spotting on friday and went to the dr. they did an ultrasound. they said the heart rate is good and everything looks good. she said it could be a busted blood vessel, a blood clot behind the placenta, or from hormones. It has continued through the weekend, but they say everything is ok. Malinda -- Spotting question I'm about 8 1/2 weeks pregnant and have been spotting a bit on and off for the past 2 weeks. It's not a lot and it's been dark brown not red but that still worries me. I was told that this is old blood that is oxidized or something to that affect. I saw my ob last week and she assured me that my uterus was the size it should be but I'm concerned that something is wrong. She didn't see any signs of bleeding or anything but I started spotting again over the weekend and it's now reddish brown. Again, it's not a lot and I haven't been cramping or anything -- didn't cramp when it first started so I don't know what's happening. I called my ob yesterday and they've scheduled me to have an ultrasound on Thursday to see what's going on. Has anyone gone through the same thing? I'm trying to think positively but I have a feeling that the outcome is not going to be good. Just need some positive thoughts to get me through whatever may be going on -- good or bad. Thanks, Hazel Children are a blessing, and a gift from the Lord. -Psalm 127:

Guest guest
Hazel, I spotted with my first pregnancy and with this one I had a period the first three months I was pregnant. I did not even know I was pregnant until I was 15 weeks. The doctor said many women have bleeding around the times when their period would have been due. Get checked by the doctor because it is scary, but in my case there was nothing to be concerned about. Good Luck, Terri Spotting question I'm about 8 1/2 weeks pregnant and have been spotting a bit on and off for the past 2 weeks. Guest guest
Hi : Congratulations on your pregnancy! =) Sounds like you were going through the same thing. I'm so glad that all was well. Thanks for the information -- it was very helpful. I was able to move my ultrasound to tomorrow morning so I hope to have some news then. I'll feel better once I know what's going on even if things aren't looking good. I hope that they are but am preparing myself in case they aren't. Take care, Hazel > Hey!
