Guest guest
I'm about 6 weeks pregnant (or so we think) and yesterday I stepped on the scale in the morning. It weighed 2 pounds heavier! I know I might be just freaking out about this and maybe it's just water weight? But it's really got me worried... I admit that with my nausea (which is basically all darn day) I have been eating more carbs than usual because it comforts my tummy. And my protein shakes make me gag so badly...even thinking about them sends waves of nausea over me. The doc suggested trying to keep something in my stomach all the time but I'm seriously trying not to graze because that defeats our surgery. She also suggested sucking on sour things or drinking lemon water...perhaps that would help? I'm trying everything I can. I don't throw up...I just am sooo nauseous. Here's a typical eating day for me: Breakfast: egg breakfast taco (at the university - I go to school too) OR some dry cereal midmorning: sometimes I have a snack and sometimes not. When I do it's like a couple of saltines. Lunch: egg salad on low carb bread or pb&j on low carb bread or soup and some crackers afternoon snack: If I have one it ranges from a couple raw veggies, to a couple of crackers, or pretzels Dinner: I made chicken curry the other night, or hamburgers, etc.... I try to get some form of protein in at least. All day I try really hard to get in my water - even bought a water bottle. I take my vitamins religiously. I'm miserable...this nausea really puts my mood in the toilet... Aali
Guest guest
Aali, I had terrible " morning sickness " during my first trimester so I know what your going through. I'm willing to bet that the weight you put on is because you aren't feeling well and has nothing to do with what your eating. What you really need to focus on, and I know this is hard, is that you need to focus on eating and not worry too much about your weight. You will put on weight with the pregnancy, there is no way around that, just do your best to eat the right things and if carbs help you feel better right now then you have to go with it. Hang in there and it will pass soon. Axelrod What do you eat every day?! I'm about 6 weeks pregnant (or so we think) and yesterday I stepped on the scale in the morning. It weighed 2 pounds heavier!
