Congrats on your pregnancy. I personally would say to wait. Only

because your uterus willstill be swollen after giving birth, and,

you will not get the " full " tight effect. I had a baby in September

and am scheduled for my pannilectomy on Feb. 11. I would suggest

waiting a little bit after your c-section to give your body time to

heal from that surgery and then proceed with the tummy tuck (panni).

I had a c-section with my son in September and I can tell you from

experience, it takes a good six weeks for your tummy not to be

pooched from your swollen/shrinking uterus. Plus, with a panni, I've

heard they're pretty painful, and I'm sure you'd rather enjoy that

time in the beginning with your new baby.

Just my opinion. Oh, and another thing, my son will be almost 5

months old when I have my surgery, and, the doctor told me that I

won't be able to pick him up by myself, until after 6 weeks. So,

another thing to think about.

Good Luck in what ever you decide, and again congrats.

I was just told by my plastic surgeon that I would need to wait

about three months post partum to have a panniculectomy. Time to

heal from the birth, etc.

I was surprised yesterday to find out that I was approved for the

pann'y, but because I intend to have another baby, surgeon won't do

it until I am finished having children. She said that it would

stretch me back out, as if I never had the surgery to begin with.

What sucks is my approval from insurance only lasts for a year, and

I am not pregnant yet, so I will most likely have to reapply for the

whole thing. What a drag...

Now if I could just get knocked up a little faster.

Just thought I'd share as we had a plastic surgeon at our support

group meeting last Sunday. I was planning on getting a tummy tuck

done about 6 months after my c-section and I asked if that was

enough time to wait/heal. She said that it would be the minimum

that she would prefer to wait a year as it takes that long for your

body to be truly back to the way it was pre-pregnancy. Also, when

someone asked about getting a panniectomy she said she doesn't do

them because they don't turn out as well without the tuck. Patience

is definitely not one of my virtues so I hated hearing that but I

want the best results I can get since I will probably self-paying my

plastic surgery.

I would personally wait so you can get the most out of your removal

or tuck. It would really suck to have it done than have your

abdomen reduce more and still end up with some loose skin.
