Tendon Transfer and Gait Study

We had a follow up with Dr. Herzenberg today. Looks like Dylan is

probably going to need the tendon transfer. We are going to go back

in the spring for a Gait Study (had anyone else had one of these?)

and then we'll schedule the tendon transfer for when he's out of

school next summer. Dr. H said Dylan won't need any pre-op casts

because he's still very flexible, but that he'll be in casts without

being able to put any weight on them for 6 weeks. That's going to

be tough with a very active 4 year old (well, he's 3 now, but will

be 4 in February). Just wondering if anyone else here has been

through this. I will be asking for more advice as we get closer,

but just wondering if anyone can give me more information from a

personal point of view.
