Yes this does matter with the Markell shoes the buckle is on the inside.

Markell shoes & buckle

When you put the Markell shoes on, does the buckle go on the outside

or inside of the foot (or does it matter)?

Thanks,

Straight last shoes can be buckled on either side, they are

interchangeable. Reverse last shoes are not however. So if the shoes look

like they're on the wrong feet when you have the buckle on the outside

(like a normal shoe with buckles) they have to be mounted with the buckle

on the outside. These are reverse last shoes. Straight last shoes have no

sides, they're the same and thus are interchangeable. Straight last shoes

are what is recommended by Dr. Ponseti so that's probably what you've got.

I like the buckles on the inside, it's easier for me to work them that way

(because the shoes are pointed out already, no twisting baby) but it's

really up to the parent what works for them.

With the straight last shoes, the shoes are interchangeable so

whatever works for you is fine. I prefer the buckles on the inside -

it works for us!
