I am 13 months post-op, down 133 lbs to 218, and I am trying to

concieve. I just had my yearly post-op checkup, and my doc wasn't

too happy with my decision (he recommends 2 years), but he seemed to

be resigned to the fact that I was ready by the end of the meeting.

The thing is, I have stalled at this weight for the last 3 months, so

I am definitely not in the rapid weight loss phase, and I am able to

eat just about anything but very high, liquidy sugars without any

problems (except that I can eat just about anything without any

problems, if you know what I mean). So I don't think that

malnutrition is a problem for me. All my labs have been normal.

Anyway, I do have a few questions for you ladies. I plan to start a

prenatal vitamin in anticipation of a near-future pregnancy. Should

I replace one of my normal vitamins, or should I add it to the other

ones? I currently take 2 multi-vitamins with iron and a ferrous

sulfate supplement. I also drink a small glass of orange juice with

the vitamins, because it was recommended to help with absorption, and

I know that oj is supposed to have folic acid. Is there anything

else I should think about? I've heard about B-12 supplements, but I

don't know if they're necessary for me.

Actually, I suppose my other questions can wait, since they have to

do more with the actual pregnancy than pre-pregnancy planning.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Katy
