Guest guest
Just so you are aware of this - I'm having some very difficult problems with pain on my right side in the flank area. It wakes me in the night. This sounds like adrenal involvement when I look it up. I'm sorry - I didn't read the links you are referring to so I'll have to track back maybe later today to take a look at them. Life has been hectic as I have had company. Alice Do a quick read through some of the about com thyroid links I have posted for others here...All the info. is there re-testing..>

Guest guest
Alice, possibly is...Your TSH is MUCH better but needs to be lower..your Endo. will probably slowly increase your thyroxine..you need more they retest after 6 weeks normally..Tip..always make sure you get the same brand of thyroxine..different makes have different fillers/binders/starches...Get endo to check FT3/FT4 ..many of us need tertroxin (cytomel?US) T3 as well but take it slowly..hopefully you will feel a lot better on the thyroid front soon Gillian- -- In , " A ADAMS " wrote: > Just so you are aware of this - I'm having some very difficult problems with pain on my right side in the flank area. Guest guest
I have a retest in 6 weeks exactly. She checked TSH. Wonder if we need to check more? It does say third generation if required. Here's an interesting side note - my balance is not quite as bad as it was before I started taking the thyroid meds again. My PCP prescribed a dose that was obviously too high as it caused me to feel terrible with migraines to boot. The endocrinologist reduced the dose by 1/2. Guest guest
Alice.. when I get time in a day or two will send you a load to sticky about thyroid and the respiratory chain complexes from pubmed.which will explian that if you have a thyroid component to your mito. it is imperative you optimise your meds In the meantime no you don't need to test before 6 weeks..you have to give time for your receptors to slowly wake up..don't try rushing it..it takes 28 days for thyroxine to reach a stable concentration in your blood..that is why you always retest 6-8 weeks after a dose increase/decrease...Did they test your adrenal function prior to giving you thyroxine ? Sensible Suggestion...you are obviously as the patient noticing improvements in yourself. (which is terrific).keep a brief diary to show your endo.!! A good Doc will take note of what you say. If your thyroid has not been optimised for ages your adrenals will have been stressed or there again they could be stressed because of the mito in any case just pleased to see you posting a positive response. relisting specially for you save you searching !!!
