Guest guest
Tricia, From everything that I have read, you probably won't feel anything until at 18 weeks at the earliest. The book what to expect when you're expecting says average is 18-22 weeks to feel the first movements. I am almost 21 weeks myself and started to feel a little something last week. I don't feel it every day and it's not very often, but I am almost certain that what I am feeling is my baby moving around. Be patient. I know it's really hard, but it will happen sooner than you think! Best of luck! Beverly Tricia wrote: >Hi! I was just wondering what the earliest was that anyone felt kicking? Guest guest
Thank you Beverly. The only reason that I am being patient is because I don't really have any other choice do I?? LOL How exciting that you are feeling the baby! I can not wait!! Tricia
Guest guest
Tricia, Well it was hard to tell at first. They say it's similar to the feeling your digestive system makes. Well, when I noticed I was finally starting to show around a month ago, I was having all kinds of weird movement in my abdomen. After deductive reasoning and talk to the nurse practitioner at my last OB appt, all the movements I was feeling higher up in my abdomen were my digestion tract. Which makes complete sense. The uterus is taking up the space where I usually felt all my digestion going on so everything has moved up higher, plus I usually feel that right after I drink or eat. I asked the nurse if I would feel something if it would be generally from the belly button down, and she said yes. And to be honest, since I noticed all my digestion rumblings going on higher up in my abdomen, I hadn't felt anything below my belly button. So, I started to pay close attention to my body and once in a while I feel her move around. She's been a little active today. It;s really neat!! I belong to babycenter.com, and every week they send me an update as to what's going on this week with me and the baby and how big she is. This past notice said she's as big as a large sweet potato!! She's anywhere between 6.5 to 10 inches long and weighing in at over 10.5 ounces!! At my last ultrasound, they didn't tell me exactly how long she was, but everything is exactly where it should be for as far along as I was. I take it this is your first pregnancy?? Me too. I am so paranoid about everything and gaining weight is scary, at least for me it is. I keep telling myself that it's good weight, it's the baby. It definetly feels so much different than putting on fat like in the past. It seemed to really happen overnight. One week I was fitting in a pair of jeans just fine and the next they were so uncomfortable. I totally freaked. I have only gained about 6 pounds so far. I really don't think I have gotten much more of a belly than I had 4 weeks ago. I can't imagine that I will really " show " until about March!! I refuse to wear the maternity clothes just yet. I bought a few things only because they were on sale, and I do imagine I will have to start wearing the pants soon, only because everything else has become too uncomfortable. The pants don't have the big pouchy looking thing so I can at least wear them with just about anything. I will just have to hike them up a bit so they aren't all baggy in the front!! LOL Well, I hope I was of some help. I am in no ways an expert in this arena. I know nothing about being pregnant or being a mom. At least we have each other when we have questions!!! Lots of luck to you! Talk to you soon, Beverly Tricia wrote: >Thank you Beverly. The only reason that I am being patient is because I don't really have any other choice do I?? Guest guest
Hi Tricia, I am also pregnant with twins (19 weeks). I really haven't felt much yet and this is my 4th pregnancy. I am getting very impatient also!! I have felt a little movement, but it doesn't happen as often as I'd like. I thought i would feel alot more than I am at this point with twins--I have an appointment wednesday and I can't wait to hear the heartbeats. At this point, that is the only thing that reassures me that everything is going well. Good luck to you! > Hi! I was just wondering what the earliest was that anyone felt kicking? Guest guest
Hi tricia, I am 15 weeks today and do not feel kicking yet but once in a while I feel like a rolling feelling. I had twins too and YES you will feel double the kicking once they get going in there Mine felt like they were Pro Wrestlers, lol, and they act like today at age 7 1/2. I think the best kicking feeling comes after the 5th months and then you can really tell good by then. Good Luck with everything. Guest guest
Beverly, Wow how exciting! I can not wait to feel the babies move. This is my 2nd pregnancy. I have a 3 yo daughter but I was 155 lbs heavier with her, so I never felt her move. I can not wait. Tricia
