Guest guest
Hi Lindsey.. I'm butting in here because it sounds like Jack is fairly similar to Darcy.. 'cepting Darcy isn't a twin! I don't post a whole lot because Darcy really doesn't have any real problems, he eats well, he has plenty of energy and is a healthy active little boy; he has been in day care since he was 6 months old and his size has never stopped us from taking him out. He did get sick a fair bit till he turned 2 then it just stopped. (Though I think taking him off dairy helped here). Having been well socialised from an early age, he holds his own beautifully with the other 3-4 year olds at day care, kinder and gym. He throws and catches and kicks the footy with them, and isn't scared of being in the middle of a scrum for the ball. I've never tried to wrap him in cotton wool, and I think that's been really good for him, he is a very confident little boy - far more than his sister was at that age. {{HUGS}} Steph (Darcy 3.5 RSS and Tessa 7) > , > Thanks for posing this question. It has helped me to hear the responses. I especially enjoy hearing from the grown up's - thanks Sharon & Ana! > I also worry constantly about my son Jack. He and his twin brother (Joe is normal size) are 16 months old now. I'd give anything to be able to turn off my worry but so far I haven't been able to do it. I should be able to - I'm one of the luckiest Mom's on the listserve I think. Jack's smart as a whip, has hit every developmental milestone so far, eats orally...he just doesn't gain weight and sometimes doesn't have much of an appetite. (He does " look " RSS to me but the geneticist hasn't decided to 100% diagnose him yet.) It doeesn't seem to matter - I still am thinking of all the problems he'll have being small, and especially having a twin brother who won't be. School and sports are scaring me to death and they are both years away! I'm with you on the public places - I tend to stay home in the evenings and my husband and I trade off errands rather than take the boys out on the weekends. But Jack does go to a sitter for part of every day and to nursery at church so I count that as outside exposure in my mind! Neither of my boys have been to the mall since they were bitty babies and it was just last weekend that I took them to the bookstore and drugstore with me. When Jack does catch a cold, his appetite stinks so I'm pretty protective. > Enough about me...I'm rambling. I haven't posted in a long time and now I can't shut up! I really just wanted to say thanks to you and everyone else who's responded so far. > > Lindsey > Mom to Jack (maybe 16 pounds, 28-29 " tall) and Joe, 16 months > And Baby Ben on the way, due August 6th - no convention for me this year!
