Guest guest
That's an awful story! > For those of us home schooling, or who know a HS family - this article needs read and responded to by contacting CBS.com directly with complaints! It speaks for itself so I won't take your time summarizing. HSLDF is investigating their options to prosecute by the way. > > http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/10/13/eveningnews/main577817.shtml > > >
Guest guest
I'm a public school teacher, so I obviously have my thoughts on homeschooling which don't need to be discussed here. I fully expected to open the site and read the article and agree with some of its points. Never did I expect such blatant irrelevance between the articles title and what the article was truly about. The situation with this family had nothing to do with homeschooling. They were a family with tremendous physchological/emotional/etc. issues that are completely separate from the fact that they homeschooled. They kept their children home to hide them and their scars etc. from the public - not to educate them. I'd be very angry and would seek action as you stated was going to be done.
