Guest guest
, Are the night waking episodes related to potty-training at all (maybe he's waking up initially because he has to go)? Do you think a reward system would work for ? Give him a sticker on a chart each morning that he wakes up and wears them all night maybe? X number of stickers would equal a small prize? Based on what I've read about the families who were released from the brace at age 3 and then had sudden and severe relapses, I would encourage you to try to keep him in them as close to age 4 as possible. My only other suggestion would be to try making the shoes on the bar a little narrower for him- maybe they're too wide? Good luck & keep us posted! & (3-16-00) left clubfoot
Guest guest
- Thanks for the reply! is a couple months out from still understanding the whole reward system. We did this with our older son (non CF) to keep him in his bed at night as well and will do it when comprehends more. I did make the bar narrower last night and he only got up once at midnight. He did not scream for shoes off either he just cried, so I don't think it was shoe related last night. I do plan on keeping in the shoes until minimum age 3 or longer if he tolerates it. I'm aware of all the recent relapses thanks to this board! He has loose ligaments and a CF foot that was easily correctable, so I'm hoping his chance of relapse is less. Hopefully, the narrowing of the bar was the problem and we hvae solved it:) > >Reply-To: nosurgery4clubfoot >To: nosurgery4clubfoot >Subject: Re: HELP - 2 1/2 year old not wanting to wear >DBB at night >Date: Wed, 03 Nov 2004 14:21:31 -0000 > > >, >Are the night waking episodes related to potty-training at all (maybe >he's waking up initially because he has to go)? >Do you think a reward system would work for ?
