Guest guest
Sunny et al FWIW, I bought Acetyl-L Carnitine from Swanson ( http://www.swansonvitamins.com/ ) one month ago. As I earlier said, I think it's only newly available in the green plastic bottle, Premium Brand, which seems to be their cheapest (for all other stuff as well). I paid $14.99 (plus modest shipping) for 100 caps of 500 mg. I take two of these, twice a day, so that's $.60/day for 2 g. I couldn't find ALC at Epic ( http://www.epic4health.com/ ) but of course they do have plain old L-carnitine. I don't know what the alleged differences are, other than that I recall reading that the acetyl variant is more bio-available to nervous system tissues (something about more readily crossing the blood-brain " barrier " ). Steve D. P.S. Since I have the invoice out, I'll report my Swanson purchase (in the green plastic bottle) for Co-Q10: $29.99 for 100 caps of 120 mg. I also take two of these twice daily, so that's $1.20/day for 480 mg. Date: Thu, 2 Dec 2004 20:28:02 -0500 From: z39z@... Subject: Re: Juvenon with alpha-lipoic acid and acetyl L carnitine Hi, Steve I agree about high-priced combos, Steve. I offered the site mainly for information on the two supplements, ALA and ALC. I like Swanson a lot, but a while ago when I priced out a month's supply of those two, I don't remember there being such a huge difference. I will look again, though. I do take my ALA and ALC from two bottles still. Swanson's Qgel is reduced now, and is cheaper than the Epic source at this time, even buying in high quantities. I believe I posted before that Swanson has assured me (for what it is worth) that their Qgel comes directly from Tischon.
