Guest guest
Hello everyone. I know there has been some discussion lately about weight gain in our pregnancies and my question kind of is regarding that. I am 3+ years out of my open RNY and found out I was pregnant 12/29-- estimated 8 weeks at this point until my ultrasound. Since then, I have gone up about 2 pounds BUT I have really " popped " out. Have you others who haven't gained much weight still " popped " out or are you not showing at all? I am just curious. This is my second child, maybe that is why but I had my son over 9 years ago!! I weigh myself everyday (bad habit but I cannot help it!) thinking that I must have gained 5 pounds overnight because my tummy is really growing! I cannot wear my regular size pants unless I wear them with the extender on the button. It is hard to get used to wearing things out when I have been tucking them since I got to a certain point in my WL journey. I have to admit that I am excited to " look " pregnant because I was 240 pounds when I had my son and you couldn't even tell I was pregnant, I just looked " big " . My clothes were the same, I just went up a size or two at Lane to accomidate! I am now looking at maternity clothes and am excited to wear them (I am sure that will wear off LOL)... it is amazing that this will be a totally different experience for me because of my WLS and what a difference it has made on my life!! Even though we haven't told anyone about the pregnancy yet I feel weird not signing my name here so I thought I would today! Thank you ladies for sharing any of your experiences... Guest guest
Hi Ivy, They say and I believe this that you grow faster the second and more times around pregnant since your uterus has already beens tretched before so stretches out more quickly this time around. I feel huge even though I still have my fat roll and it is hard to tell but if I actually feel my abdomen and go by my jeans I can surely tell already and somedays wish for joggers or stretch pants instead of my jeans. Right now I sit here with them all unbuttoned, lol... HUGS, ROBIN, NY Age- 41 Due Date- #4 July 27th, 2004 OPEN RNY 10-18-02 378/246/170??? Guest guest
I am 8 1/2 weeks pg and I have " popped out " too. I went to the Dr today and I actually lost 5 lbs since last month. But my excess skin is a little pg belly now. Dr even said that he could tell. This is also my 2nd child. My daughter is 3 in Feb. A lot of people have told me that with your 2nd baby you show a lot earlier. I also am very happy because with my daughter you could not tell that I was pg just plain ole fat! Guest guest
I am 8 weeks pregnant (only gained 3 pounds) but look like I am about 10-12 already. I was in a size 10 before I found out and 14 are tight now. I am really only comfortable in maternity clothes. Malinda
Guest guest
Hey, this is my first pregnancy, and I can't figure out why the same thing has happened to me. I am 9 1/2 weeks along, have lost 12 pounds so far courtesy of morning sickness, and yet my waist is 4 inches bigger and my pants don't fit. Go figure.
