Guest guest Posted December 17, 2004 Report Share Posted December 17, 2004 I just wanted to let everyone know that the PT came out today to observe Branden in the demo chair of the one we are requesting. It was FINALLY decided that this is the chair for him and he'll be getting it and get to keep the demo until the brand new one comes in. This proves that you have to keep fighting for what you know is best - whether for you or your child (or grandchild). This went thru denials, appeals and even a hearing but the clincher was the test this morning and Branden did a great job demonstrating how much this chair would help him. He doesn't get out of it at all at school with the exception of at recess and toileting. Going from never wanting to be in it to this, I'd say that's a HUGE step. Yes, my back agrees!! So what color is your powerchair? And what kind did you get? I can't believe it but I got my powerchair almost 2 years ago. I don't know how I lived without it all those years. Sorry to hear that you have been having some bad spells and I hope the chair will help with that. I realized that you haven't been posting much....are you having trouble dealing with the Mito? or dealing with the fact that the disease has progressed to the point where you now need a powerchair to help you? We are here for you, , so if we can help let us know. Keeping you in my prayers and I hope you start to feel better soon.!!
