Guest guest
Ann-Marie As of yesterday, these kinds of sites will not be given any of the serum. The Adult Day Care center might have some. They are really trying to get it to the people who really need it, so are not letting others have it. I don't know why they didn't do that the last time there was a shortage. Maybe they learned from that experience. laurie > > Reply-To: > Date: Tue, 12 Oct 2004 20:34:02 -0400 > To: > > Subject: Places to find the Flu Shot/ Young > > Hi , > > I know in my little town, they have Flu Shot clinics various places. Guest guest
Two of our local pharmacies had their Flu Shot clinics last week. I know they had them. And our hospitals Adult Day Care Center has them too. I guess it is a good idea not to let them have clinics in the churches, and grocery stores this year since there is a shortage. It is going to be a long bad winter and I believe that the hospitals are going to be filled this Flu season with alot of inpatients. Guest guest
Farmer Jack was offering flu shots this morning here in the Metro- Detroit area. They had people lined up at 2 am for the 10 am availability. The store that was featured on the news had 400 shots available and I couldn't help but question why they would allow it at a grocery store instead of more regulated places. Obviously in desperation people will lie about their health status. Frustrating for those people who truly need it and have been turned away. bug
Guest guest
I lucked out today and my daughter and I got them at a drugstore about 15 miles from my work during my lunch hour. Only thing is my lunch hour took 2 hours and my boss didn't know where I was. Everyone but my daughter and I were seniors in line for the shots. We had to pay $20.00 per shot, but at that point, I really didn't care. I hope you can find one as well. Young wrote: >Thanks, I will llook everywhere I guess. Guest guest
oh that is lucky! I wouldn't mind paying the $20 either, as long as I could get it. So far their is nothing around here at all:( I am not happy with the thought of going through the flu season without that shot. Sure hope I can find it. Guest guest
I hope you can too! I hope we all can, for those who choose to get one. I sure hope they can do something to prevent this from happening again. Young wrote: >oh that is lucky! I wouldn't mind paying the $20 either, as long as I could >get it. Guest guest
Hi and , I heard on the news that they are price gouging the shots. Honestly what is next? You have the Money, you get the Shot. First of all this shouldn't be happening, but the only thing I can think of is the elderly seniors who have a hard enough time managing their monthly check to cover food and prescriptions. I do believe that this ( contamination of the vaccines) won't happen again. I think the government was caught off guard and the UK company who was manufacturing them didn't say a word until the UK governement shut them down. Just think we could have had contaminated vaccines coming into the US and all those people would be deathly ill, or worse could have died. I really do hope those who choose to get the shot are able to find a place that has them available. Guest guest
Ann-Marie I heard on the news tonight that they have indicted several for the price gouging. They also said that the CDC is planning on having several additional labs produce vaccine in the future. I agree that those who need it should be able to get it without having to worry about how they were going to pay for it. laurie > > Reply-To: > Date: Thu, 14 Oct 2004 22:10:21 -0400 > To: > > Subject: Re: Places to find the Flu Shot/ Young > > Hi and , > > I heard on the news that they are price gouging the shots.
