well...I've never heard of ANYBODY ever having

problems with pushing a baby out due to previous

abdominal surgeries...not even *multiple* surgeries. If

your OB says that he, his associates, your bariatric

surgeon, and your nutritionist all came to this decision

(altough I'm not sure why your bariatric surgeon or

nutritionist is involved in this at all)...and if you're not

WANTING a cesarean...then you could always ask for

his references as to 2nd stage being compromised due

to having had abdominal surgery in the past...

you could always ask him how he came to this

recommendation and ask for references and studies

that show that previous abdominal surgeries have had

impacts on second stage of labor...

Of course, if you WANT a cesarean, that's a different

situation. I was going by the assumption that it wasn't

something you desired (which may have been an

incorrect assumption on my part)...so if it is something

you desire, then there would be no reason to question

anything since you'd be getting exactly what you want.

=)
