Guest guest
What does your dr. prescribe? I would rather err on the side of caution, wearing them a couple hours " too long " each day than risk a relaps. I think the standard rule of thumb is 12 - 14 hours per day once they're walking/cruising well. My son is also 13 months old with BLCF, he is currently at the 12- 14 hour phase although not walking independently. This was per Dr. Ponseti's recommendation. s. Hi, My son is 13 months old, BL CF, DBB 16 hrs/day. Our ortho told us to take his shoes off during the day and for him to just wear them at night (12 hrs) when he began walking. He can stand up on his own and he is taking several steps (like from couch to couch or a max distance of about 5 or 6 feet before he goes back to crawling). I'm not sure if i should wait until he's walking more or if i should go ahead and put his shoes on just at night. The ortho wasn't very specific. I don't want to go to a shorter time prematurely, but i don't want to take away from his " practice " time either. The ortho said that walking would help his heels to come down, so i'm anxious for him to walk as much as possible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Callie
