Guest guest
Hey, I have never been able to drink the protein drinks or the liquid protein. I was eating detour bars but they became way to expensive and ended up tasting wayyyyyy to sweet. So now I get in all my protein by food. I eat alot of boild egg whites lol .. I get in around 120 grams of protein a day!! I also have to eat all the time because my blood sugar is sooooooo low (I'm on bed rest til the end of my pregnancy due to my low blood sugar). I am not sure if you are able to eat alot of things but you can do it if you put protein above everything else!! good luck to ya!! Hope it all works out! Edd 8/17/04 > Hi everyone, > > I hope this email finds eveyone well and happy! I wanted to ask how are you guys getting your protein in? I am having trouble big time. I was having trouble before I became pregnant anyway, but now it is worse. I can't do the shakes. I was doing Amino Infusion 5000 which is a liquid protein. Any suggestions? Do you think I can get away with just eating protein right now? > > Pzaz
Guest guest
for protein my doctor recommended we buy some protein powder and sprinkle it on the food when you cook. Guest guest
I too have problems getting my protein in my diet. I try not to rely on protein " snacks, " but sometimes I do need them to help me get my protein intake. I was working for the bariatric program which performed my surgery and met a Novartis Rep who introduced me to their products. These protein products were supposedly created with the bariatric patient in mind...they are small in quantity which is a big plus, and they do taste good too. Here is the information: Optisource is the name brand. I use 2 products - their " High Protein Drink " and buy the caramel flavor. They have another flavor, but I can't remember what it is. The drink is only 4 Fl oz and contains 12g protein, 100 Calories and 3g Fat. The " Mini Nutrition Bars " are chocolate flavored. They are very small and taste great, unlike most large, bland, protein bars which I can never finish. The " Mini Nutrition Bars " have 7g protein, 90 calories and 2.5g fat. The only way I know to purchase these items is through Walgreens home delivery service. I order them on-line from the Walgreens website. Be prepared to search for them, it always takes me a few minutes to find them on the website...but they are there. I moved overseas in December, and as of that time, it was the only way to obtain these items. They do not deliver overseas, so I have them sent to my mother who then forwards them on to me. It is a pain, but well worth it, as they are the best tasting, smallest protein supplements I have found. I know it is controversial regarding using " sweets " items as supplements for bariatric patients, so if you have a real sweet tooth you might opt for another option. Sweets were never my down-fall, so it hasn't been an issue for me. Good luck with the protein hunt! Donna " momyknipp "
