I would take pictures of his casts and email them to Dr. Ponseti himself

to get his opinion. I am having a hard time picturing your description of

them, so I can't give any opinion in that area. When in doubt, go to the

pro. Also, he should definately be manipulating the feet. It is

something you wouldn't miss because it takes several minutes for each

foot. If he is not doing this, then he is wasting time with the casts.

Find out where he learned about the Ponseti Method. Did he just read

about it? The manipulating and casting is the correction process of the

feet. There should be NO alterations to this process or you will start

from square one again in the future. I have been there, done that. I

don't want that to happen to anyone else if it can be prevented early. I

am not trying to scare you or bring you down, but please do yourself a

favor of emailing Dr. Ponseti himself. Please let us know what you

decide.

Please don't get discouraged, just keep going. You are doing the right

thing by questioning.

I'd be worried also, you need to follow your mommy instinct here! Dr. P is

very, very picky about holding the foot as it is wrapped. Granted, he does a

little pushing, etc. as the plaster dries, but only very little and I believe

that is to make the plaster form around the foot as he holds it, not actually

moving the bones.
