Guest guest
Hello again eveeryone i hope you are all keeping warm, it is sooo cold over here in Iowa!! I just wanted to let everyone know how we are doing over here in Iowa. Well got her 2nd set of casts of Wed and she is doing so great!! When the nurse removed her first casts Dr. Ponseti looked at her feet & said they are looking wonderful. You know for the first time I felt a sense of relief about the correction on her feet. We stayed a good while because he seemed to be very busy that day for some reason. He also called and asked if he could get some shoes made for by Monday and Joyce said he could not. So what does this amazing man do? Well he thought he had a pair in his office but they could not find it so he personally called and a few minutes later Joyce comes back in and tells him " called and he said he will have the shoes Monday for their appointment. " What he told I do not know but he made it happen. He told us he did not want us to leave without the shoes and showing us how to put them on & so he made it happen. is doing so good that I can not believe it. I do not know if I had shared with you all that she really did not crawl much and she did not walk at all. Well you wont believe it but with her casts and all she is crawling all over the place here at the RMH!! We also put her in a walker they have here and she started taking steps in the walker casts and all!! All of our family is so happy to hear this and we are just filled with joy! Pur family tells us we made the best decision ever to come over here and I have this group to thank because without your support, encouragement, and information I would not be where i am. THANK YOU ALL!! We should be heading back home Monday after her last set of casts are applied. We are still unsure if she will need a tetonmy on her left foot. Dr. Ponseti said she her left foot is reponding good to the casting so it may go either way. One thing he did tell us was that we Samanatha had her tetonmy done in August on both her feet she should have never been put sleep comletely! He explained how dangerous it is for babies to be fully under and I was so scared at what her told us.I am so thankful that we are in the best hands. Other than that we are just passing the time here at the RMH, shopping, sightseeing and trying to stay warm! So if all goes well we should be heading back to TX on Monday. Hope the roads and weather are as good as when we left. Thats all for now, and BL CF 12/16/03 P.S. Sorry ee but I did not meet Jim, but i did meet Kira a very, very sweet girl. She has been so nice and helpful to us!
