It's amazing that you've managed to keep going this long, a measure of all your creative solutions and adaptations. I hope the adjustment is not too difficult and that you can enjoy a less stressful schedule. Rest well! It must be annoying seeing that light on all the time Your announcement about going out on disability was a surprise to me. I am sorry that you had to make this difficult decision, especially since I know how much you enjoy teaching. It is a hard to face that our bodies no longer want to function the way we would like them to or the way they should. You have adapted to your body changes better than anyone I know, you came up with innovated ideas to help you function the best way possible. You are truly an amazing person. Don't look at it as though your body has failed you, look at it as a fresh start doing something that you have always wanted to do. Try to enjoy your free time. And I know you will find something productive to fill the extra time. I remember when you had the time you went to some of the Hospitals and were kind enough to teach the medical students all about Mitochondrial disease, maybe now you will be able to do more of that. Heck, maybe you can get paid to travel around the U.S. and give a seminar on Mito disease. :-) But I do know that no matter what you decide to do, you will brighten everyones day that you meet. :-) Hugs, Ann-Marie yahhhh Hi I finally have my van back. I know it was probably a very difficult decision to go out on disability at the end of the semester. You have put in so much hard work that you deserve a break and your body needs it.
