Guest guest
, Welcome and congrats! I did the same GTT that you did and had the same results. Good for you for making sure you took the test that you could tolerate. There are some ladies on this site whose OB's are trying to force them to take the regular test. As far as the tube tying thing, for myself, I am pregnant with my first child so I'm not going to do this. My hubby and I discussed what we are going to do after we feel we are done having children and we decided its best for him to get " fixed " as I have tons of health problems and it would probably be best to leave well enough alone in my case and him to go through it since he is a healthy guy. It doesn't make any sense to me why having GBS would not allow you to be a candidate for having your tubes tied. If I were you I would find out from the doc that told you this why he is saying this and does he have any data to support his claim. Then I would go and get a second opinion. I have learned during my pregnancy, and reading the posts on this site, that if you go to 10 different docs you will get 10 different opinions, so do your research. Axelrod Re: Level 2 ultrasound 1-) How did your doctor do the glucose tolerance testing? I have had problems with dumping and did not want them to do the actual tolerance testing with the syrup stuff since it would make me terribly sick. So, they just did a fasting blood sugar and then followed that up with the blood sugar that they take 2 hours after I ate my meal. All the came out great and they don't plan on doing any further testing, even though I had gestational diabetes with my last pregnancy. Any thoughts about this? 2-) Does anyone plan to have their tubes tied after this baby? I've thought about it, of course, since this will be our 5th child.... But, one doctor told me that I was not a candidate for the procedure because of having the gastric bypass surgery. I haven't talked to my surgeon about this yet. It was one of the high-risk OB-GYNs that I saw at the beginning of my pregnancy who told me this. Thanks!
