Shoe Charms and other incentives

I ran over to Target at lunch time and found Spiderman shoe charms

($2.99), there is 5 or 6 in a pack and they clip onto the shoe

lace. They also had spongebob, sport objects, flowers, etc. I made

a deal with my son (Collin) that if he keeps his shoes on each night

until the morning when mommy helps him take them off that on the

weekend we will have a " party " for him. So I thought I would give

him a charm here and there to give him an incentive to get to his

party if he's doing good. It worked last night, he wore his shoes

until I dropped him off at his grandma's this morning (while we are

at work). He said his (Build a Bear Dog) " Buddy " needs a party

too! Buddy wore a pair of Collin's old shoes/bar last night and

kept them on until grandma's this morning too. At Acme they have

these mini pre decorated circluar cakes about 3 " wide for $1.99. So

I thought I would pick one up Friday at lunch time (maybe 2 and try

freezing one) and have a mini party to make him feel special and

hopefully encourage him to keep up the good behavior (if he make it

until Friday!!!). If this is what works I can handle having a mini

party each Friday with his stuffed animals, his Dad (who thinks I'm

a nut for letting the stuffed animals come to the party), ane me. I

think he will only have to wear the shoes until August that's when

he turns 4, and the last diagnosis we had said at least another

year. Hopefully this will work....THANK YOU for all of the great

suggestions, (we will try this first and use the duct tape for a

last resort, I'm afraid he'll tell people I'm taping his feet

together or something and have me investigated...ha ha) I forget

who suggested the party, I have to go back and read the post again,

but thanks again!!!! I'll let you know if he make it until Friday!!!

Michele,

That is a great idea. Where did you find them, by the shoe

department? It doesn't sound like they would fit the s unless

they clipped onto the buckle. I bet you found your niche. Good luck!
