Guest guest
Barbara- I know quite a bit about Forteo. I tried it and had pain and site reactions. The problem for me was that I don't have any fat on my body so the injections were going into my muscle and bleeding instead of the sub cutaneous layer of my skin (fat) I didn't have any systemic side effects and the needles really are tiny. The nurse who instructed me on giving the injections was surprised I could even feel it at all. You just lift up a peice of your thigh or stomach and it's really quick. I think it's a really good product and well worth a shot. No pun intended. Lilly has some pretty impressive bone data with this product. It not only prevents further bone breakdown but actually builds bone. Let me know if you have anymore questions. I hope this will be the answer for you. I would still be on it if I could gain some weight.
Guest guest
, I should have known you would know about Forteo! I don't have any fat either...and both suggested sites are already so painful I didn't want to think about sticking needles in either. Maybe the ultra-fine pen needles will not irritate the tissue the way glucose needles mess up my fingertips. I haven't had a demo of injection yet, just supposed to read the material and look over the kit. Is it very expensive? Seems like it could be, given all the supplies they sent home. Tks. Guest guest
Barbara, The Forteo pens are pretty expensive. I was fortunate because it's a Lilly product and it was free. (My dad works for Lilly) Praying for you and for the injections to not be too painful. I think the buttox is ok as a last resort too. Prob. don't have much fat there either though! ha! Guest guest
Nope, not much fat behind or before. A demo video came with the starter kit, so I'll see what they say about site options.
