Livie's bar is bent on both ends and she not only stands, she walks and runs.

In fact, we just had to wrap duct tape around it to get us through the next

three weeks until we get back to Iowa because one of the clamps broke because it

wore thin from her walking in it.

Believe it or not, Christian will figure it out!!

standing in the DBB

If I am not mistaken, alot of people here have children who are able to

stand in the DBB. Dr. Herzenberg bent Christian's bar so now if he were to

stand on it he would need to balance which is not happening. Will the bar

always be bent up like that? If so, do they really stand on that thing?

Becky is one of those that stands and walks in her FAB. She loves

it LOL I think it is because every time she does her dad and I

are laughing up a storm. I am convinced that she is going to be

great at snowboarding when she gets older.

We haven't had any problems with the brace breaking or wearing

out.... yet. And she is almost 3 :)

It is quite amazing what these little one's are capeable of!!!

My daughter stood in hers all the time.. I have a picture somewhere

if anyone's interested. , too, has posted one of her daughter

pulling to a stand in it, here (scroll down to see):

http://ponseticlubfoot.freeservers.com/dbb.html

As an older child, our daughter could even manage standing without

holding onto things, and even do a swinging " walk " if she felt so

inclined!

She's still in the same size red adjustable bar that she got at 6

months, and is now over 4 yrs old.

Hi Theresa,

I checked out the pics of Claire standing with the bar (which by the way are

pretty amazing) but I noticed that her bar is straight across in the middle.

Christian's is shaped like a " V " in the middle. I will post a pic tonight

so you can see what I am talking about.

Livie's bar sounds like the one Theresa's daughter Claire has. If you have

a chance to see the pic.let me know if that is the same one. Thank you.

It would be the same bar, I believe, since we both got them in Iowa. I didn't

realize that your bar was bent from the middle. I guess that would make it

pretty diffcult to stand or walk in! Ours is flat across the middle and bent at

the ends.

Hi ,

I haven't been on the board in a couple of days but I have to say

that I am amazed at what is doing in this DBB! It has the

bend in it (her first doc didn't do that!) and she stands in it no

problem -- holding stuff of course -- and even walks behind her push

toy or while holding someone's hands! My chiropractor suggested not

letting her walk in it often because of the stress on her hips so we

dodn't encourage it but if she does it on her own then we go with it

for a little while.

Yes, she " rocks " a little in the bar but she is starting to only

hold the couch, table, etc with one hand.

Thanks Marilouise,

I was really wondering if that was possible with that bend in the middle.

Christian has decided to focus his attention on crawling. I think trying to

stand right now was just too difficult. But he is still very young for

walking. He gets up on his hands and knees and thrusts himself forward

(which is kind of funny). This is keeping me much more relaxed than having

to watch him stand in that thing, for now at least.

has come along way since those first couple of days in the shoes. I

am happy to hear she is doing well.

Hi ,

I have had a crazy busy life this week so I am SOOO far behind on

this board!

is doing amazingly well! We have had NO problems with the

DBB since that first bit of adjusting and I truely think that was

sensitivity from the length of time in casts, etc. It was quite

worrisome at the time but now seems eons ago :) I am curious to see

how quickly she walks once her time in the DBB is decreased.
