Guest guest
I do not have any info on Forteo, but it is interesting what you say about your fingertips Barbara. I used to have very painful fingers that never healed from blood testing on my fingertips. About 2 years ago I was given a lancing device that you can use to test on your forearm which is hardly painful at all. Mine came with the one touch ultra but I have used it with a different meter that came with my insulin pump recently also. It came with two tips--one you use the same as a regular lancet and the other has a bigger hole in the center and is clear so you can see thru it. It works by forming a vacuum at the site where you puncture to get blood on your forearm. I got mine with my meter but you should be able to get them at the drug store also. I need to check on that so I have more than one. Janet Sample Re: Forteo injections , I should have known you would know about Forteo! I don't have any fat either...and both suggested sites are already so painful I didn't want to think about sticking needles in either. Maybe the ultra-fine pen needles will not irritate the tissue the way glucose needles mess up my fingertips. I haven't had a demo of injection yet, just supposed to read the material and look over the kit. Is it very expensive? Seems like it could be, given all the supplies they sent home. Tks. Guest guest
I forgot to add that when I got my insulin pump this past August the nurse practioner said that the fingers supposedly have a more accurate reading than the forearm. But, the numbers for me when tested on both the forearm and finger just a few seconds apart were only a couple of points different. For me that does not justify the pain and slow healing of the fingers. Janet Sample Re: Forteo injections , I should have known you would know about Forteo!
