Guest guest
Hi Everyone, My name is and I haven't been on here in a really long time. I had Open RNY 11/20/2002 with a starting weight of 376 lbs. I have PCOS and had a hard time conceiving my 2nd child, it took 1 yr plus clomid. Anyhow, I got pregnant 11 weeks post-op while on Birth Control pills (some post-ops do not absorb the pill as well, wish someone told me that!) When I found out I was pregnant I weighed 268. I had an uneventful and easy pregnancy, definitely the easiest of the 3. On 11/20/2003 (my 1 year WLS anniversary!) we welcomed (Xander) Dalton into the world weighing 7 lbs 10oz. 21 1/2 inches long. He was and is perfect. My weight the day he was born was 249. Today 9 weeks later I am down to 211. I was one of the lucky ones with this whole situation... no morning sickness, no complications, but for everyone that is trying to get pregnant before One year... I would recommend don't. Even though everything went perfect, emotionally there were alot of issues. Even to this day I do not know if I will ever get to goal. They say the best time to lose the weight is the 1st 18 months, well I spent 9 1/2 of them being pregnant. I now can eat more, not as much as a normal person but definitely a larger amount then I want too. During the whole pregnancy I was scared for the baby...was I getting enough nutrition, would the baby be harmed in someway. My ob kept yelling at me because I continued to lose weight until my 34th week. It was only 20 lbs approx. but it had them concerned. I had 8 ultrasounds, to insure his growth was ok. SO all in all it turned out well and I had my 1st " normal sized " baby. My 1st son Tristan was 11 lbs at birth and my daughter was 8 lbs 10 oz two weeks early! Sorry this post is so long. If I had to do it all over again I would have waited atleast the year. I think I would have been able to enjoy this pregnancy more, if my weight was stable. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask me. GOod luck to all of you on your journey! Guest guest
Wow, you and the baby have done great. You still did very well with your weight loss. I am not to goal either but I am set in my mind that after baby comes along to get my butt into weight watchers or something to shed the rest. I still feel good though being mid 200's since I was 378 at surgery time. Losing the 140 was a blessing nad I cannot imagine what the rest off will be like, WOW... Congratulations on everything HUGS, ROBIN, NY Age- 41 Due Date- #4 July 27th, 2004 OPEN RNY 10-18-02 378/246/170???
